Celebrating 11 years of the open mic.

Thanks to everybody who has come out in that time. Here is the 11th annual open mic poster. It has the names of everyone who played there who I had record of. If you have played and want a poster come on down to the Missouri Lounge on Wednesday nights to get one while supplies last. You can see if you can find your name on a high resolution scan of the poster by clicking here, but it might be easier if you get a paper copy.

Founded in 1953, the Missouri Lounge is one of the last standing Berkeley dive bars along the San Pablo Avenue corridor. On the inside it features a full bar, pool table, big ass TV, and a fresh coat of paint. Out back are picnic tables, a barbecue, and heaters in the winter. It is dog friendly and quite the place.

Now in it's 12th year, the Wednesday Night Open Mic is one of the most enjoyable open mics in the Bay Area. It's been described as "playing in host Paul Pot's livingroom - with a full bar!"

Every week Paul Pot draws a new flyer that is sent out to the Missouri Lounger Open Mic email list. He has had shows of his work at pizza and pinball parlors, but no art galleries. Why is that? . You can be on this email list. Send an email to MeWantEmailMisery at thehappyclams <dot> Click on the following link to see the previous flyers:

And don't forget.........

.... and speaking of Missouri, Paul Pot played at an open mic at this place in 2002. It was phenomenal, but alas it is now gone.
